Bowling I

Mondays/Fridays 2:30pm - 3:45pm or
Tuesdays/Thursdays 11:00am - 12:15pm

This semester-long course builds the bowler from the ground up. The first half of the course develops fundamental skills with on-lane drills and lectures from bowling guru Tom Reid. The second half introduces league play, spare shooting strategy, and one-on-one coaching.

Bowling II

Thursdays 3:00pm - 4:20pm
Weekly league session also required

This semester-long course builds upon the skills developed in Bowling I. Students will use a properly-fitted ball to expand on their respective skill sets including loft, hand adjustments, mental game, and ball speed. Students will also participate in weekly league competition (the "lab") to test new skills in a competitive environment.
Prerequisite: Bowling I

Bowling III

Winter Term Project Full or Half Credit 6 Students Maximum

This in-depth project allows individuals to develop specific skills with one-on-one coaching, extensive practice, video analysis, and equipment upgrades. Students will also delve into bowling theory, professional bowling analysis, and are encouraged to participate in intercollegiate competition either during or upon completion of the project.

Independent Study

Students have continued to incorporte bowling in the context of Independent Fitness or Private Readings. Independent Fitness allows students to participate in personalized skill development similar to Bowling III for course credit. Students have also created bowling-related Private Readings and projects in Cinema Studies, Physics, Mathematics and Creative Writing.
