Regional Interview Days

Introduction | Regional Interview Days | On-Campus Recruiting (OCR)

Organized through the Selective Liberal Arts Consortium (SLAC), Regional Interview Days provides students with off-campus interview opportunities for post-graduate and internship positions with top employers in many different fields.

SLAC offers four recruiting events: Two city-based Recruiting Days in New York, NY and Washington, D.C., and two Video Interview Days. These events are ideal for seniors seeking entry-level jobs, or  juniors seeking internships. Each event provides face-to-face interviews with reputable employers, all in one day.

For both the city-based events and the video interviews, students review and apply for opportunities through the SLAC online recruiting system. Employers then extend invitations to the applicants they wish to interview, and students schedule their interviews online.

Interview Travel Grants

Through the generosity of an anonymous donor, the Career Center has limited funds available to help defray costs incurred by students traveling for professional interviews. These funds are intended to help students whose interviewing expenses are not reimbursed by the interviewing organization.

Grants will be awarded on a rolling basis until depleted. As with most funds available through the Career Center, financial need (as determined by the Financial Aid Office) will be one criterion for awarding these grants. Recipients will be reimbursed for their expenses, usually up to a maximum of $500 per student, after the event.

Important: In order for your reimbursement to be processed, you will need to submit the following documentation to Linda Gwinn in the Career Center:

  • A copy of your resume. Please submit as soon as possible, but no later than 5pm Monday, September 8, 2014 for the Fall Recruiting Day in New York, or no later than 5pm Wednesday, December 17, 2014, for the Winter Recruiting Day in DC.
  • An estimated budget of expected expenses. Please submit as soon as possible, but no later than 5pm Monday, September 8, 2014 for the Fall Recruiting Day in New York, or no later than 5pm Wednesday, December 17, 2014, for the Winter Recruiting Day in DC.
  • Complete interview details (who, what, when, and where), including a confirmation email from the interviewing organization or SLAC. Please submit as soon as possible, but no later than 5pm Monday, September 8, 2014 for the Fall Recruiting Day in New York, or no later than 5pm Wednesday, December 17, 2014, for the Winter Recruiting Day in DC.
  • Original receipts for all relevant expenses. Please submit as soon as possible after the Recruiting Day.

All recipients also will be asked to write a thank-you note to the generous donor who made these funds available.

If you have any questions about the Interview Travel funds, please contact Linda Gwinn in the Career Center.
