Oberlin’s best loved historic commercial structure is the Apollo Theatre. Built in 1913, the Apollo has a rich history as a part of the community. Since construction, it has housed Oberlin’s first 300-seat theatre and in 1928, the talkies were introduced to Oberlin here. This 1920 postcard view looks west on East College to Tappan Square.
