Edward Smith

Edward C. Smith served as Oberlin's city manager during a time of turmoil and tension amidst anti-Vietnam protests of the late 1960s. After the resignation of Donald Marquis, Smith came to Ohio from Pennsylvania, where he had worked in a private development foundation. Smith left Oberlin in 1971, and went on to work as city manager and assistant city manager elsewhere in Ohio. Though he reapplied for the Oberlin post in 1993, he lost the position to Gary Goddard. Tom Dalton followed Smith as city manager.
