Deborah Kimble


Deboarah Kimble, who took the city manager position in 1989 after the resignation of Dale Sugarman, served as assistant city manager in Michigan, as well as th economic development officer in Marion, Australia. The second of Oberlin's female city managers (preceeded by Sherry Suttles), Kimble served until only 1992, when she left Oberlin after a term marked with disagreements and tension with the council. She moved to Cleveland to pursue a doctorate degree and to work at Cleveland State University. She was succeeded as city manager by Gary Goddard.
