J.B.T. Marsh returned to Oberlin after the Civil War to become the owner and editor of The Lorain County News when L.L. Rice left in 1865. Marsh continued at the paper until 1867 when he sold it to Elbert W. Clark on July 31, 1867 (Williams Brothers, 66).
