A colorful chevron design decorates the acoustic wall panels inside the historic Apollo Theatre. A yearlong restoration project has reestablished the century-old building according to National Park Service Historic Preservation standards. Design elements from previous makeovers in the 1930s and 1950s remain throughout the complex, all while keeping with a modern film and performance space.
The Cleveland Restoration Society and the American Institute of Architects-Cleveland this year honored the Apollo with its Award for Theater Restoration. The award recognizes exemplary projects and individuals who have made significant investments in the revitalization of Northeast Ohio.
