Pooling Academic and Athletic Success 03 July 2013
Third-year student Robert McConkey knows his way around the pool as he competes in the butterfly. He and his Oberlin College swimming and diving teammates have a long and storied tradition of success in and out of the water. Most recently second-year student Chris McLauchlan earned All-America honors in both 1-meter and 3-meter diving at the 2012 NCAA Championships.
The swimmers also have shined in the classroom, continually earning All-Academic honors from the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA). In 2010 the men’s swimming and diving team had the highest GPA in the country regardless of division.
