Class Cow

Rather than the proverbial welcome mat, a makeshift dairy cow greeted first-year students to Oberlin for Orientation in 1909, courtesy of the Class of 1905. Besides this mock milk station that compared freshmen to new babes in need of milk, the upper-class students wrote and produced a dramatic narrative entitled Cow and staged it for the newcomers to mark the occasion.
