The Bertram and Judith Kohl Building has come about because of a love for the great American music called jazz. The individuals and organizations that have rallied around this art form believe in its transformative and inspirational power. Whether teachers or performers, composers or promoters, the Bertram and Judith Kohl Building represents their vision, generosity, and commitment to enhancing the study, performance, and appreciation of jazz. The Oberlin College Conservatory of Music gratefully acknowledges Wendell Logan, longtime Oberlin professor of African American music, and others for their contributions to this project.
