Your Event... in the Library!

Font size: AAA

Members of the Oberlin College community are encouraged to reserve any of a wide variety of spaces in the libraries for events that engage the community. Event requests must be approved in advance by library staff, who take into account conflicts with other activities, the appropriateness of the activity in the library environment, the complexity of the logistics, timing, and other relevant factors. We look forward to working with you on your event!

Typical events:

  • Exhibits, displays   (see Exhibits Policy for more information)
  • Short performances to advertise upcoming concerts and events
  • Art installations
  • Receptions
  • Lectures, talks
  • Office hours (faculty, student organizations, etc.)
  • Occasional outside-of-regular-class-hours meetings/discussions
  • Filming
  • Wellness events (relaxation, massage, etc.)
  • Study breaks
  • Tabling

Note: Library spaces are NOT generally available for college and ExCo courses; regular classroom assignments are handled by the Registrar's Office. Requests to book library spaces to meet special class needs are handled on a case-by-case basis.
