Honors students are encouraged to upload a final copy of their theses to the OhioLINK Electronic Theses & Dissertations Center.

These departments have given approval to deposit final, accepted honors theses at the OhioLINK site: Africana Studies, Anthropology, Archeological Studies, Art, Comparative American Studies, Comparative Literature, Computer Science, East Asian Studies, Economics, English, Environmental Studies, Ethnomusicology, Gender, Sexuality & Feminist Studies, Hispanic Studies, History, Latin American Studies, Mathematics, Philosophy, Physics & Astronomy, Politics, Psychology, Russian and Russian Studies, Sociology, Theater & Dance, Third World Studies.

Note: Due to potential research, scientific data, and publishing concerns, Biology and Neuroscience honors papers will not be uploaded.

If your department is not listed here consult your advisor.

Before you begin the submission process:

  • The preferred format for papers is Adobe PDF with all fonts embedded.
  • If you have used materials from the Oberlin College Archives in your thesis, please ask Archives staff for permission to post those materials online. The Archives will generally provide a web resolution digital image at no charge and ask you to use the credit line "Photo Courtesy of the Oberlin College Archives."
  • If you have used images of items from the collections of the Allen Memorial Art Museum in your thesis, please make sure images are at a web resolution of no more than 72 ppi. Use the credit line "Courtesy of the Allen Memorial Art Museum."
  • If you have content in your thesis which you did not produce (e.g. photographs taken by others) consult Megan Mitchell. Other copyright considerations are explained during submission process.

To begin the submission process:

  • Go to the OhioLINK ETD Center login page and register as a new user.

  • Read all information carefully and consult the online list of Frequently Asked Questions as needed.
  • Library staff will be notified automatically of your submission. We will review the descriptive portion of your entry and contact you and/or your advisor as needed prior to making your honors paper publicly accessible and adding a catalog record to OBIS.

Once uploaded in the OhioLINK ETD Center:

  • Your thesis will be discoverable by Google and other internet search engines
  • You will have a permanent URL which you can cite in your resume, portfolio, or future publications.
