THE BLACK RIVER THEATER COMPANY TO HOLD OPEN AUDITIONS FOR SHAKESPEARE'S TWELFTH NIGHT
April 6, 2001--The Black River Theater Company (BRTC), Oberlin’s Free Family Theater, will hold open auditions for its summer production of William Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night Friday, April 13 in Oberlin and Saturday, April 14 in Cleveland Heights. Twins and actors of color are especially encouraged to audition. Please prepare a Shakespearean monologue. For an appointment or directions call (440) 775-8151.
BRTC is looking for well-trained adult performers, both equity and non-equity. AEA members work under the Special Appearances Contract (level 2). BRTC is a semi-professional company and pays all actors.
The April 13 auditions will be at Oberlin College’s Warner Center, 30 N. Professor St., behind the King Building, which is on the corner of College and Professor streets, from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. The April 14 auditions will be at the Unitarian/Universalist Church, 2728 Lancashire, Cleveland Heights, from 12:00 to 3:00 P.M.
BRTC Artistic Director, Paul Moser, will direct the play. Rehearsals will begin June 19. The show will run Wednesdays through Sunday, July 20 through August 5, in Oberlin College’s Hall Auditorium.
The production will feature many returning members of the BRTC acting ensemble: Neil Thackaberry as Malvolio; Scott Plate as Orsino; Mirla Criste as Olivia; Eric Cowley as Sir Toby Belch; Rajiv Punja as Andrew Aguecheek; and Tracey Filed as Maria.
