OBERLIN, Ohio--The Oberlin
Korean Students Association (OKSA) will host its second
biennial conference entitled "A Place at the Table: The conference's workshops address Korean American arts, literature, politics, sexuality, academic life, and Korean studies. All workshops will echo the conference's theme that Korean studies should be given equal weight within the academic realm. Mark Lee Keam, the keynote speaker, has served as the Washington representative of the Korean American Coalition and assistant chief counsel in U.S. Small Business Administration's advocacy office, and he writes a regular column on ethnic politics in the KoreAm Journal. He will speak about student leadership in today's diverse community. A Korean culture show will feature traditional Korean dancers of Pungmul from the University of Buffalo on Saturday, February 27 at 3:30 p.m. in the Oberlin College Conservatory of Music's Warner Concert Hall.
