JANUARY 31, 2001 -- Internationally acclaimed composer and pianist Jon Jang ’78 and renowned saxophonist David Murray will perform in concert at 8 p.m. Thursday, February 8 in Oberlin College’s Finney Chapel.

Oberlin College Recieves $100,000 Grant From Fifth Third Bank. (January 23, 2001)
OBERLIN, OHIO--Oberlin College has received a $25,000 check--the first installment of a $100,000 grant from The Charles E. Schell Foundation--to provide financial help to qualified students. The grant funds will assist Oberlin in providing interest-free loans to undergraduates. As they repay the funds, grant money is then made available to future students on a revolving fund basis, according to College officials.

Oberlin Celebrates Martin Luther King, Jr. With Concert By Moses Hogan Singers. (January 17, 2001)
OBERLIN, OHIO--Oberlin College will celebrate the life of Martin Luther King, Jr., Tuesday, February 6 with a concert by the internationally acclaimed Moses Hogan Singers at 8 P.M. in Finney Chapel, located at the intersection of West Lorain and North Professor streets, opposite Tappan Square.

Oberlin Music Coalition to Present Annual Winter Children's Concert on February 3. (January 15, 2001)
OBERLIN, OHIO--The Oberlin Music Coalition, a community outreach organization managed and staffed by students at the Oberlin College Conservatory of Music, will present their annual winter children's concert on Saturday, February 3 at 2 P.M. in the Conservatory's Warner Concert Hall, located on the corner of Professor and East College Street. This year's concert features the Oberlin Music Coalition All-Star Orchestra, comprised of Conservatory students and conducted by John Goodell (OC '98). The ensemble will perform the music of Copland, Mozart, Blake, and Tchaikovsky in collaboration with narration, soloists, multi-media, and dancers.
