Applications are invited for

AIRE STUDENT RESEARCH ASSISTANTS-SUMMER 2002

 

Eligible Projects: Proposals that engage students in research activity.

They will be evaluated on 1) scholarly merit; and 2) the educational value of the work proposed for the research assistant. Proposals that have the student involved in experimental research that includes other than library research will be given preference.

Awards. The stipend for research assistants will be up to $3000, at $7.50 an hour. The amount earned will be calculated according to the actual number of hours worked, up to this maximum. Normally students work for 10 weeks during the summer for 40 hours a week. Up to $1000 per project will be available for supplies.

Eligible Applicants: Any Oberlin teaching faculty member with an appropriate project.

Eligible Assistants: Any Oberlin College student with demonstrated competence in an appropriate field.

Conditions of Employment: A report jointly prepared by the faculty member and student must be submitted to the CIRT committee within two weeks of the end of the project.
