DESCRIPTION
- A current through the coil
will produce a deflection of the compass needle at the center of the
coil.
With the
coil in the north-south
plane, the tangent of the angle of deflection is Bcoil / Bearth, which is
proportional to the current in the coil. The number of turns of
wire included is labeled on the corresponding binding posts.
