GENECONS

APPARATUS
genecons 202-19-E2
1 F capacitor 202-19-E2
6 V light bulb 202-19-E3
fan 202-19-E3

DESCRIPTION

These are hand-cranked generators that can be used to light the bulb, run the fan, or charge the capacitor which can then be used to light the bulb or run the fan.  Connect the genecons to each other to show that a generator operated in reverse is a motor.

Other things to do with a genecon:

Have students generate equal power to two circuits, one with three flashlight bulbs in series and the other with the three bulbs in parallel, and feel the difference.
