Fill burette almost to the top with
colorless
glycerine or corn syrup. Being careful to avoid mixing the two,
add
a layer of glycerine or corn syrup dyed with food coloring. Open
stopcock and allow fluid to flow into beaker on floor. The dye
shows
the parabolic shape of the interface, in agreement with v(r) = vmax[1-(r/R)2].
