Use the motion sensor to monitor
the motion of a student walking or rolling or, for cleaner
graphs, of the motion of a collision cart on a track.
The "motion"experiment file is set up to produce graphs of
position and velocity vs time.
NOTES
Clamp the motion sensor to a tall
ringstand at a height of about 1 meter. Keep stray
objects out of the 30° cone field of view of the sensor.
The sensor cannot detect objects closer to it than 0.4 m or
farther than 4 m.
The experiment file
entitled "motion.mbl" has the x, v, and a vs t graphs
displayed with appropriately scaled axes. Alternatively,
go to setup>sensors>details to set up graphs
with the origin at the position of the sensor and
displacements away from the sensor as positive.
