DESCRIPTION Two identical cars are released simultaneously from the same height on two different tracks, one straight and one curved.  Predict which one will arrive at the bottom first.  Predict how their final velocities will compare.  The final velocities can be determined using the photogate timers.

 NOTES
If using the old photogate timing system, use the GATE setting and turn the MEMORY switch on.  The timer records how long the beam was blocked.  The display shows the time for the first car to pass through the photogate, t1.  Flip the switch to "read" to display the total time t1 + t2 and subtract t1 to obtain the time for the second car.
