DESCRIPTION
Project a beam of light through two
crossed
polaroids onto a screen. Place the half-wave plate
between the
polarizers at an angle that produces the maximum intensity.
Rotate
the half-wave plate for minimum throughput. The analyzer
must be rotated by twice the angle of the plate rotation to
again achieve the least intensity.
