Place filters on the stage of
the document camera, switch to the base light, and adjust the
camera aperture. Show that one sheet reduces the
intensity of the transmitted light, ideally by half.
Overlay and rotate the second to show how the intensity varies
with the angle between the polarization axes. Show the
effect of placing a third polarizer between two crossed
polarizers.
NOTES
Use the sheets with arrows
marking the polarization axis.
If using the Elmo with no base light, one possibility is to
rotate the light source to the base and place the slide viewer
(stored in the AV drawer in 201A) over it.
