The motor shakes the plexiglass box of balls to simulate random motion of atoms in a gas. Increasing the motor speed is analogous to increasing the temperature of the gas.
The box currently contains balls of two different sizes, to show that those with the smaller mass have a greater average velocity at a given temperature.
Secure the feet of the ring stand to the overhead projector cart with C-clamps.
Make sure the frame is level.
