BASIC BRASS INSTRUMENT IN A-FLAT

APPARATUS
brass tube
REW
saxophone mouthpiece
REW
cone REW

DESCRIPTION
Illustrates modes of a pipe closed at one end.  Plays these four notes:

Lowest note is hard -- hold pipe vertical and near body, maintain large air flow but with very light pressure of the lower lip folded over teeth.  Lowest note would be A-natural without end correction.  As you go up, the notes get still flatter from their uncorrected values, but can be "lipped" into tune to some extent.
