The two tuning forks are
identical
except
that one has a lump of wax stuck to it so that the two
frequencies are
not quite the same. Strike both tuning forks and beats
can be
heard
and the waveform seen on the oscilloscope. Vary the
amount of wax
to vary the beat frequency.
