KAJITA HANKO

(1870-1917)

Born Kajita Jojiro in Tokyo. He was a pupil of the painter Gyokuei and Suzuki Kason. Works included triptychs of the Sino-Japanese war and illustrations for the French-language publications, "The Fables of Fontaine" and "Fables Choises De Florian". Hanko died of tuberculosis at age 47.
