Big Parade a Big Success for the Offbeats

March 30, 2005

The Offbeats tried their hands at being wandering minstrels during the Big Parade on Saturday. This was no easy task, as they were competing with Taiko drumming to their right and a DJ to their left. Still, they decided the best strategy would be to plant themselves in the middle of Tappan Square, right next to the long food line, so they would quite literally have a captive audience. Suprisingly, people flocked to the group voluntarily to hear our set. Past Offbeats were even sighted in the crowd singing along with the group!

This performance featured Amsterdam with soloist Alex Muchnick, Smile with soloists Sarah Allen and Brian Wonch, A Case of You with soloist Alec Scott, A Nightingale Sang in Berkley Square with soloist Sarah Allen, and There Will Never Be Another You with the ever popular soloist Sarah Allen.

The Offbeats Perform at Study Break

March 23, 2005

The Offbeats has a successful performance tonight at this semester's Study Break! The Offbeats performed along with Untempered Harmony, Nothing But Treble, and the Obertones. Although it was extremely cold - we could see our breath as we were singing and there was freezing rain falling - Mudd Ramp was packed with enthusiastic procrastinators. The Offbeats sang A Case of You featuring soloist Alec Scott, A Nightingale Sang in Berkley Square featuring soloist Meghan Dawson, and There Will Never Be Another You featuring soloist Sarah Allen.
