Music Not Bombs is a coalition of artists and musicians which seeks to foster a culture and spirit of activism in the local activist community by offering musical, theatrical and artistic skills to local groups. We work with groups to organize street theartre for protests, make props and banners for campaigns, provide technical equipment for rallies, and are always looking for new ways to help inject spirit into what's going on. We also seek to explore the way in which music and art have been traditionally used in cultural movements and to reclaim this process from an authoritarian, capitalist society which has robbed us of our right to express ourseleves autonomously as a people.

Music Not Bombs opposes all forms of state militarism, political and economic authoritarian power structures, violence, racism, sexism and classism. Instead, we hope to further the struggle in our society for radical political and economic democracy, power-equalizing structures, equality, and the liberation of all oppressed peoples.
