Perspectives

What are your favorite and least favorite dining halls and why?

From what I’ve seen, Stevenson offers the best vegetarian options. The atmosphere in Dascomb is somehow unfriendly to me.
Stephen Gilberg, College senior

My favorite is Stevie. I have sentimental memories of it. There’s more selection. I don’t like Dascomb because the variety is less, and it’s more difficult to find high-quality food.
Becca Schlichtig, College sophomore

Stevenson is my favorite. There’s more place to sit, the Spanish room, Mountain Dew and Smart Start. At Dascomb there isn’t very much selection. Also, Lord/Saunders has too many people and it’s loud.
Katie Rowland, College first-year

I like Stevenson. It’s the only place I eat, really. Dascomb will give me an ulcer, because it’s too much stress to figure out whether my meal selections total more or less than the quota. I miss the Rat, which was by the ’Sco and served a meal at 10:00 p.m.
Mark Simmons, College junior

South is my favorite dining hall when I order in pizza. Lord/Saunders is my least favorite. I’m British, and my concept of fried food differs from theirs.
Oliver Pattenden, College sophomore

I guess I prefer to eat at Stevie, but sometimes I eat at Dascomb and Lord/Saunders. I’m going to join a co-op as soon as possible. I live in Fairchild also, and it’s an ungodly distance from Stevenson. The quality is generally decent. However, I wish they would use recyclable materials at Dascomb.
Anna Leinberger, College first-year

I eat at all three dining halls. African Heritage House and Dascomb are both close, for I live in South. At noon, however, Dascomb is a mob scene. I deal with the long lines, but there isn’t much variety, which is why all I eat there is grilled cheese.
Leigh Nelson, Double-degree sophomore

Stevenson is my favorite. It’s the most convenient, for I live on North campus. I can eat as much as I would like. However, I like Dascomb also. I don’t have time to go to Lord/Saunders.
Steve Reid, College junior
