Junior basketball player Nicole Burford earned this week’s Athlete of the Week honors with her impressive showing, despite the team’s 69-66 loss to Ohio Wesleyan.

Although the Yeowomen led the Bishops 34-33 at halftime, they could not hold on, even with Burford’s 18 points. Burford hit six of 12 field goals and all six of her free throw attempts.

In addition to her offensive production, she accumulated seven rebounds and two steals in her 34 minutes of play.

Burford averages 15.3 points per game on the season to lead the team.

Burford and the rest of the Yeowomen will travel to Earlham tomorrow as they take on the Quakers in conference action.
