Weapons of mass destruction

To the Editors:

President Bush will soon appoint a new weapons inspector to find the Weapons of Mass Destruction in Iraq; the previous inspector came up empty-handed. Wherever Weapons of Mass Destruction exist, they should be destroyed if possible.

As we spend billions looking for Weapons of Mass Destruction in Iraq, let us take note that Weapons of Mass Destruction abound in the United States.

POOR EDUCATION is a Weapon of Mass Destruction,

POVERTY is a Weapon of Mass Destruction,

INJUSTICE is a Weapon of Mass Destruction,

NO HEALTHCARE is a Weapon of Mass Destruction,

JOBLESSNESS is a Weapon of Mass Destruction,

RACISM is a Weapon of Mass Destruction,

SEXISM is a Weapon of Mass Destruction,

HOMOPHOBIA is a Weapon of Mass Destruction, etc.

We must ALL unite to wage the fiercest fight possible to get rid of all the Weapons of Mass Destruction, especially those in the United States.

They pose a far greater threat to our freedoms than those that may be discovered in Iraq or in any other foreign country.

We must forever have the hope, wisdom, and will needed to make a contribution to the kind of future for America that makes it worth our while to protect our most precious homeland and our most endearing values of peace and prosperity for all humankind.

As we get rid of our own Weapons of Mass Destruction, we make gigantic strides toward a better America and world.
