Biggs solution?

To the Editors:

Although I am a graduating senior and hold little stake in the matter of the Biggs lab, I have a brilliant suggestion for CIT and for the directors of the Lewis Center for Environmental Studies. Over the past four years I have had the pleasure to attend class in the Lewis Center and to use its restroom facilities. (I was the golden donor in the ’02 crap contest.) I find the Lewis Center to be exponentially more aesthetically pleasing than Stevenson, yet often the building seems empty and underutilized. If the CIT is looking for a place to put a nice 24-hour computer lab that stays cool in the fall and spring and draws its electricity from a massive solar array, look to the Lewis Center! If the Environmental Studies department needs donors for the living machine, why not attract them with a 24-hour computer lab! South campus currently lacks such an attraction, and having a comp lab there would draw students to study in the spacious yet often empty foyer. I see no better solution to the Biggs problem than a sweet new lab
in the currently under-appreciated Lewis Center.
