The following is a compilation of weekly reports from the Office of Security :

Feb. 15, 1:30 a.m. A resident of Langston Hall reported observing a male subject remove an armchair from the lounge. Officers responded and a check of the area was made with negative results. Value of chair is unknown at this time. Incident under investigation.

6:37 p.m. Staff reported a window had been broken at Carnegie. Trades were called for repairs. It appeared no one had gained entry. No suspects at this time.

Feb. 16, 5:05 a.m. While on patrol at Old Barrows, officer observed that unknown person(s) had forced entry into the basement of Old Barrows. It is unknown if anything was missing. Work order placed for repairs.

5:55 a.m. While on patrol of South Hall, officer discovered what appeared to be a small bag of marijuana in the lounge. No one was seen in the area; item was transported to security department.

5:40 a.m. While checking Langston Hall, officer observed damage to the handset of the telephone in the lobby. Upon closer examination, the cradle was found to have been broken off. Work order placed for the repair.

10:22 a.m. Officers and Oberlin Fire Department responded to a fire alarm at Harvey. Upon arrival, it was learned that someone had burned toast, activating the alarm. Fans were set up, smoked cleared and the alarms were reset.

Feb. 14, 10:45 a.m. Officers and Oberlin Fire Department responded to a fire alarm at Asia House on the second floor. A check of the building was made with negative results. Alarms were later reset.

2:53 p.m. Assistance was requested at Philips Gym with an injured subject. Officers responded and transported a non-student subject to the emergency room for treatment of a dislocated thumb.

Feb. 18, 10:30 a.m. Officers responded to a motor vehicle accident in Stevenson Drive. The vehicle slid on snow and into a sign. Minor damage to vehicle; no injuries.

1:20 a.m. Student reported the theft of his wallet from the kitchen area of Noah Hall. Wallet had been left unattended under a coat. A check of the area was made for the wallet with negative results.

5 p.m. Student reported damage to his oboe while left unattended in his practice room for a short period of time. Estimate of damage is unknown.

5:30 p.m. Resident of Langston Hall reported the theft of his stereo from his room. Stereo was valued at approximately $500. No suspects are known at this time.

Feb. 20, 12:25 a.m. Security Cadets, while on routine patrol of Mudd, reported loud thumping sounds in the northwest side of the mechanical room. Trades were contacted and responded for repairs.

Feb. 21, 9:44 a.m. Officers responded to a smoke detector sounding for no reason on the third floor of Talcott. An electrician responded and replaced a faulty detector. Alarms were reset.

2:29 p.m. Student reported the theft of her wallet from either Old Barrows dining hall or Mudd Library. Wallet contained personal items and approximately $30 cash.
