Amidst discussion of communication and courses this week, Student Senate found time to debate sex, drugs and rock and roll.
Although the Senate was unable to make much progress on the status of co-ed rooms and student health, the administration's feelings are mixed. Very mixed," said Persky. "We'd like to do something that's acceptable to everyone." Although the senators successfully formed a 10-person task-force, many of the members felt that they still lacked direction.
The Student-Trustees Communication proposal was again brought before the Senate. The proposal, which promotes contact between students and trustees, was first proposed in its current form by Pape and sophomore Ramy Khalil last November. Although the senators were reluctant to revisit the issue, the vote yielded positive general feelings.
Seven senators were absent from Sunday's meeting.
The Senate passed charters for the Oberlin Women's Rugby Team, Oberlin Earth First!, Oberlin Christian Athletes, the Oberlin Ultimate Frisbee Team, Oberlin Food Rescue and Youth Alternatives. Charters for Crossfire and Truth Regarding Information on Psychedelics were withdrawn from the slate.
