The following is a compilation of weekly reports from the Department of Security:

March 1, 1996, 1:37 p.m. Officers responded to Dascomb Hall to assist with a student who had been burned with hot water. Subject was transported to Urgent Care for treatment.

March 2, 1996, 5 a.m. While on patrol, officer found that unknown person(s) had constructed barricades blocking the main stairway in Old Barrows. Barricades were removed by officers.

4 p.m. Student reported the theft of her backpack from a carrel on the second floor of Mudd. Backpack had been left unattended for a period of time. Backpack contained music, cassette player and tapes, checkbook, miscellaneous items and $5.

7:21 p.m. Student reported the theft of his bookbag and sweater from Tank Hall lobby. Items were left unattended in the lobby while he ate. Bookbag was valued at $60; sweater valued at $80.

10:37 p.m. Student reported the theft of her bookbag from Kosher Co-op. Bag contained a textbook, miscellaneous clothing, library card and other items. Value of missing items is unknown.

March 3, 1996, 4:24 p.m. Resident of Johnson reported the theft of her wallet from a couch on the second floor of Mudd. Wallet contained two keys, bank cards and miscellaneous items.

March 4, 1996, 2:55 a.m. Student reported the odor of a possible controlled substance on the first floor of South Hall. Officers responded and a check of the area was made. A strong odor of incense was present; nothing else could be found.

March 5, 1996, 5:22 p.m. Officer responded to Asia House to assist with an injured student. Upon arrival, it was learned that a student had cut his finger while attempting to re-install the blade to a food processor. Subject was transported to the emergency room for treatment.

5:30 p.m. Officers responded to an accident in Wilder Lot. A vehicle struck another vehicle while attempting to back from a space. Minor damage; no injuries.

11:05 p.m. Officers an Oberlin Fire Department responded to a fire alarm at Talcott, third floor. Upon arrival, it was learned that a student was burning the edges of a letter and smoke activated the alarm.

March 6, 1996, 3:15 p.m. Officers and Oberlin Fire Department responded to a fire alarm at Harvey, first floor. Upon arrival, it was learned that smoke from a burned bagel activated the alarm.

3:30 p.m. Staff in the A.V. Department at Mudd reported a missing large flatbed metal cart. Value of the missing items is unknown. Incident is under investigation.

11:59 p.m. Residential Life staff reported an odor was believed to possible be a controlled substance. Officers checked the area; nothing could be located. Follow up to continue.
