The following is a compilation of weekly reports from the Office of Security.
April 20, 12:59 a.m. Officers responded to South Hall upon receiving a report of a suspicious person in the building. Officers checked the interior and the exterior of the building with negative results.

April 20, 3:03 a.m. While on routine patrol of King, officers located a non-college subject sleeping in one of the lounges. After unsuccessful attempts to wake the subject, an ambulance was contacted and the subject was transported to the hospital. Oberlin Police Department also responded and the mother was notified. Subject was charged with underage drinking.

April 20, 12:34 p.m. Officers and Oberlin Fire Department responded to a fire alarm at Harvey. The alarm had been activated by smoke from cooking. Alarms were reset.

April 20, 4:57 p.m. A resident of South Hall reported the theft of her wallet from her room. Officer responded and conferred with the complainant. The room door had been left unlocked for the convenience of a prospective student's entrance. Wallet contained $40 cash and other misc. items.

April 21, 5:27 p.m. A resident of Harkness reported a fire in the dumpster behind the dorm. Officers responded. The fire was caused by hot coals that had been placed in the dumpster. Fire had been extinguished prior to officers' arrival.

April 22, 9:50 a.m. Officers and Oberlin Fire Department responded to a fire alarm at Stevenson Hall. Upon arrival it was learned that a temporary power failure had caused steam from cooking to activate the alarm. An officer, while in Mudd Library, observed two suspicious subjects in the building. Subjects were approached and asked to come to the Security Office. One subject was charged with trespassing and the other was charged with underage drinking.

April 23, 12:43 p.m. Resident of South Hall reported the theft of money from his room. The money was of a large amount and was in a desk drawer at the time of the theft. Incident is under investigation.

April 24, 5:37 a.m. Resident of Talcott reported receiving a harassing phone call. Officer conferred with the complainant. Incident is under investigation.

April 24, 5:44 a.m. Officers were requested to responded to South Hall in reference to disorderly subjects. Residential Life staff also responded. Subjects were located, spoken to, then left the area. Incident under investigation.

April 24, 5:03 a.m. Resident of East Hall reported receiving several harassing phone calls during the early morning hours. Officer responded and conferred with the complainant. Incident under investigation.
