April 25, 1996, 11:15 a.m. Student reported the theft of his watch from the second floor area of Warner Center. Watch was valued at $35.

6 p.m. Conservatory staff reported damage to an office chair. The support legs had been broken off and part of the back of the chair was missing. No suspicious persons were seen in the area.

April 26, 1996, 1:55 a.m. Officers and Oberlin Fire Department responded to a fire alarm at Keep. Upon arrival it was learned that cigarette smoke activated the alarm.

2:25 a.m. Off-campus student requested assistance with a subject who needed transport to the emergency room. Officer responded and transport was completed. It was later learned that the subject transported was a non-college student.

April 27, 1996, 12:55 a.m. Officer responded to Lord/Saunders to assist an ill student. Student was experiencing severe headaches and was transported to Allen Memorial Hospital emergency room for treatment.

3:57 a.m. Student reported the southeast window at the Review office had been kicked in. Officer responded and a check of the area was made; nothing appeared to be missing. Carpenters were called for repair.

9:55 p.m. Resident of South Hall requested assistance with an ill student. Officers and staff from Res. Life responded. Student was transported to emergency room for medical treatment.

April 28, 1996, 12:26 a.m. Resident of Harkness reported disruptive subjects in the building. Officers and Res. Life staff responded to the area. Subjects were dispersed from the area; party was shut down.

11:30 a.m. Officers and Oberlin Fire Department responded to a fire alarm at Talcott, third floor. Upon arrival it was learned smoke from burning incense had activated the alarm. Alarms were reset.

April 29, 1996, 2:37 a.m. Officers and Oberlin Fire Department responded to a fire alarm at Noah. Upon arrival it was learned that a pan of water had been left on the stove creating smoke which activated the alarm. Area was cleared of smoke and alarms reset.

April 30, 1996, 12:45 a.m. While on routine patrol of Hales Gym, two subjects were observed in the gym area. Officer approached the subjects and ID's were obtained. It was learned that the subjects were gymnastic instructors and they were checking equipment. Subjects were advised to notify Security when in buildings after hours.

10:16 a.m. Officers and Oberlin Fire Department responded to a fire alarm second floor of Allencroft. Upon arrival the second floor was found to be filled with smoke and flames were seen in the kitchen area. Fire was extinguished. There was extensive damage to the kitchen. One student was transported to Allen Memorial Hospital emergency room for treatment of smoke inhalation.

8:39 p.m. Officers were requested to respond to Phillips Gym in reference to a disturbance. Upon arrival it was learned the two subjects had been assaulted. A student was later arrested and charged with the assaults.
