One swimmer makes B-cuts at Last Chance meet

by Jeff Clickman

Sophomore Matt Soellner made a B-Cut last Saturday at the "Last Chance Meet" at Case Western Reserve University. Soellner swam a 1:56 in the 200-yard butterfly, which is a probable qualifying time for the Division III Nationals that take place March 20-22 at Miami University.

Soellner has a 75 percent chance of making Nationals according to Coach Dick Michaels.

Soellner will find out in a week-and-a-half when the final cutoff times are announced. For now Soellner is training under Michael's supervision.

Four other Yeomen swam in the Last Chance Meet. None of the others improved their times from the North Coast Athletic Conference season. Captain double-degree senior Eric Nordstrom equalled his times from conference in his last meet. Fellow captain junior Clayton Woodson was only .3 second away from a B-cut in the 100-yard freestyle. Sophomore Jeremy Steinhauer and captain junior Wayne Miller also swam in the meet.
