The four men chosen for Athlete of the week were all members of the 800-meter relay team that placed second in the North Coast Athletic Conference last Friday through Sunday at Denison University.
The 4 by 200 team was a heart-rending .2 seconds behind the lead Wittenberg runner and so came devastatingly close to first place. This could have been enough to push Oberlin into sixth or even fifth place.
Sophomore Sean Wesolowski gave the team a big push with his long legs.
Sophomore David Ellis also placed fifth in the 300-meter run with a 37:28.
Sophomore Steve Jackson placed eighth in the 55-meter dash, after slipping out of the starting blocks because he did not have his usual block-holder. His time was a 6:89.
David Ellis, also a sophomore, placed third in the 400-meter run, with a time of 52:36.
"It got me pumped up," Feldman said.
Sorry, no standings this week. They'll return after Spring Break.
