Yeomen get National coverage

Sports Information Director Scott Wargo has been busy in the wake of the football team's big win. "The phone has been ringing non-stop since Saturday," Wargo said.

Coverage for the Crimson Thunder has been in all the local papers, Wednesday night the Associated Press ran a story and photos.

Sports Illustrated, ESPN, and CBS all had Yeomen coverage. Here's a summary of upcoming and prior stories and broadcasts.

WOBC

On Friday at 7pm WOBC 91.5 FM will replay the entire broadcast of the victory. Then on Saturday tune in again as WOBC follows the club to Hiram for the second game of the year. Kickoff is at 1:30pm, with the pre-game show starting at 1:15.

ESPN

For two minutes on last night's SportsCenter at 11, Oberlin fans were shown rushing the field and then wandering around wondering what to do next.

CBS

The Yeomen should be shown on Saturday before the College Pre-game show.

Sports Illustrated

This week's issue said, "The Yeomen's come-from-behind triumph ended the longest streak in Division III since Macalester (Minn.) dropped a record 50 straight from October 1974 through November '79, and caused many of the roughly 1,000 fans in attendance to pour onto Dill Field for a postgame celebration."

Associated Press

Yesterday's story included such things as "When Oberlin went into the locker room at halftime tied at 10, rumors took to the air, spreading like news of a free Pearl Jam concert."
