Women get ready for basketball season

by Libby Fleming

The Oberlin women's basketball season tips off Saturday with a tournament at the University of Chicago. The women are eager to have a winning season following last year's disappointing 6-15 record. They have been working hard during the offseason to improve all areas of play. Things look good, as a cast of experienced veterans join a promising bunch of first-years, all of whom will contribute. "Returning and freshman players alike have a lot of talent to offer this season," sophomore center Heather Barbee said. Barbee and her twin sister Rachael are among the familiar faces who will round out this year's squad. Also returning is junior post Monica Bush, who has broken school and NCAC records alike for rebounding. The women play at Heidelberg on Wednesday.
