The following is a compilation of weekly reports from the Office of Safety and Security.

Oct. 29, 1:23 a.m. An officer responded to a report from a student of the theft of his cellular phone in the parking lot of Wilder. A black male, 5'6", hair braided and pulled back, wearing a blue polo shirt, baggy jeans and yellow scarf, asked the student to use his cell phone. After a call was made by the male, the student asked for his phone back. The male then raised his shirt exposing an automatic handgun. The incident is being investigated by Safety and Security and the Oberlin Police Department.

Oct. 30, 3:42 p.m. As a result of an investigation by the Safety and Security Office and Oberlin Police Department, Oberlin Police charged Oberlin city resident Erol D. Barnes with Impersonation of a police officer. He was released on a $250 personal bond pending appearance in the Oberlin Municipal Court on November 2.

Oct. 30, 7:35 p.m. An officer received a report from a student that while walking near the construction site by Barrows at 1:30 a.m, a white male, wearing dark clothing, jumped out of the shadows, grabbed her arm and told her not to scream. The student pushed the male and began to scream. He ran from the area. The Safety and Security Office and Oberlin Police Department are investigating the incident.

Oct. 31, 12:20 a.m. An officer observed two students arguing near Wilder. The students were separated and sent on their way.

Oct. 31, 1:30 a.m. An officer received a report from a student that he had been struck in the nose by an unknown male while attending an off-campus party. The male is believed to be from the South Amherst area and was described as 5'11", 180 lbs., with red hair. The incident was reported to the Oberlin Police Department.

Oct. 31, 2:23 a.m. An officer transported a student to Allen Memorial Hospital. The student said she put her hand through a storm door window after arguing with her ex-boyfriend. The student was treated and later released.

Nov. 1, 9:14 a.m. An officer responded to a report from a faculty member of the theft of two musical instruments over the summer from the faculty office in Hales. Taken was a Yamaha Soprano Saxophone valued at $2500 and a Yamaha Dx11 Drum Machine valued at $5,000 to $6,000.

Nov. 1, 10:29 p.m. An officer responded to a report from two student of obscene phone calls from an unknown male caller. The calls began on Oct. 31 and had been received throughout the day.

Nov. 1, 2:30 p.m. An officer responded to a report from a staff member that he was given several items with disparaging graffiti on them aimed at a student. The items were located in the women's restroom in Mudd Library and Wilder Hall. A staff member from Residential Life and Services reported additional graffiti aimed at a student in the A-level women's restroom in Mudd Library. An emergency work order was filed to remove the writing.

Nov. 2, 10:04 p.m. An officer responded to a report from a staff member at Mudd Library of the theft of a marquee from the A-level lobby. The value of the marquee is unknown. The incident is being investigated by the Safety and Security Office and Oberlin Police Department.

Nov. 2, 5:38 p.m. An officer responded to a report of a vehicle/pedestrian accident near Finney. The pedestrian, a student, was transported to Allen Memorial Hospital for treatment of an injured ankle. The student was admitted to the hospital for overnight observation and a broken ankle.
