The following is a compilation of weekly reports from the Office of Safety and Security.

Apr. 20, 10:45 a.m. An officer responded to a report from a student of the theft of two textbooks from the lounge of Keep Coop. The textbooks, Abnormal Psychology and Social Psychology, are valued at $150. The textbooks were left in the lounge since 10 a.m. on April 18.

Apr. 20, 2:58 p.m. An officer responded to a report from a vendor delivering an order at Wilder Hall. The vendor reported a student removed a case of beer from his truck. The student, who was identified, was contacted and referred to Judicial Board.

Apr. 21, 4:46 a.m. An officer and the Oberlin Fire Department responded to a fire alarm on the second floor of Dascomb. The alarm was activated by dust in the smoke detector.

Apr. 21, 4:50 a.m. An officer responded to a report from a custodial employee of graffiti written in chalk on the wall outside of the northwest entrance door of Wilder, and on first floor telephone booths and rest room walls. The damage occurred during the evening hours of April 20.

Apr. 21, 12:02 p.m. An officer and the Oberlin Fire Department responded to a fire alarm on the second floor of Talcott. The alarm was activated by a detector malfunction.

Apr. 22, 7:04 p.m. An officer responded to a report from a student of a second instance of an offensive message. The incident is under investigation by the Safety and Security Office.

Apr. 22, 12:48 p.m. An officer responded to a report from a student of vandalism in the basement kitchen of Burton. Eggs were thrown against walls and floors of the kitchen, basement bathroom and stairwells from the basement to the third floor. The damage occurred after 3 a.m. The incident is under investigation by the Safety and Security Office and Residential Life.

Apr. 22, 1:08 p.m. An officer responded to a report from a student of the theft of the hood ornament from a blue 1991 Mercedes Benz parked in Stevenson lot between noon on April 21 and 12:30 p.m. on April 22.

Apr. 22, 5:00 p.m. An officer responded to a report from a student of the theft of his bicycle, a Red Cannondale F700, from Harvey House. The bike is valued at $1500. The student placed the bike, unlocked, in the rear hallway between 10:30 p.m. on April 21 and 1:30 p.m. on April 22.

Apr. 23, 7:49 p.m. An officer responded to a report from a student of an offensive comment written on a poster in the Conservatory near the practice rooms. The student who was featured on the poster reported no other instances of harassment.

Apr. 24, 9:00 a.m. An officer responded to a report from a student union staff member of several coin machines damaged in Wilder Game Room. A student employee found children reusing quarters from an open machine on April 23 at approximately 5:30 p.m. The game room was closed until repairs were completed. Additional machines were later discovered damaged. The matter is under investigation by the Safety and Security Office and the Oberlin Police Department.

Apr. 24, 10:19 a.m. An officer responded to a report from a student of the theft of her bicycle from the east side of Harvey House. The bicycle, a women's blue Sears "Free Spirit" 10 speed, was last seen on April 23 between 4 and 6 p.m. It was not locked.

Apr. 24, 2:50 p.m. An officer responded to a report from a grounds shop employee of damaging a vehicle parked on Forrest Street while mowing the lawn near Allencroft. The damage was minor and the owner of the vehicle was contacted.

Apr. 22, 10:32 p.m. An officer responded to a report from a student of the theft of a Samsung zoom 70XL camera from Harvey lounge. The camera is valued at $100. It was taken sometime during the evening hours of April 21.

Apr. 25, 1:45 p.m. An officer responded to a report from a College employee of damage to his vehicle while it was parked in the West Service Building lot. The driver of the vehicle in the next space opened his door when exiting, causing a dent and loss of paint on the College employee's car.

Apr. 26, 11:33 a.m. An officer responded to a report from a Conservatory staff member sharing information and requesting assistance in locating a cello. The cello has a dark stain finish, and holes from old screws around the tuning pins from before the correct pins were fitted when the instrument was rebuilt. The cello was reported missing at an earlier date, and can be returned by contacting Safety and Security or the Conservatory Office.
