Alleged Rape Outside Drag Ball, No Arrests

A woman was allegedly raped during Drag Ball, according to information released by the Oberlin Police Department Thursday. No charges were filed, and the identities of the alleged victim and assailant have not been released.

Condemned Man Granted Temporary Reprieve

Faced with execution for the 1984 murder of a Cleveland delicatessen owner during an attempted robbery, 49-year-old Jay D. Scott was scheduled to be the second person killed by the state of Ohio since the death penalty since 1963.

Women’s Lax Gains Second Conference Victory

Senior MarySara Salvania scored five goals and junior Selena Kansal added three goals as Oberlin’s women’s lacrosse team defeated Allegheny College on Wednesday 11-5. The Yeowomen also played Wooster on April 11, but fell to their North Coast Athletic Conference foe 17-3. The win and the loss moved Oberlin’s record to 3-6 overall and 2-3 in conference play.
