Alum Suggestions

To the Editors:

Fundamental Fact: if war was a pleasant thing it would have a different name and be called something like stooping to smell the roses.

Fundamental Fact 2: through some defect in the design plan human beings are often unable to resolve fundamental differences in their vision for the world.

Fundamental Fact 3: the fiends of Sept. 11, those that harbor them and those that apologize for them, or those that try to understand them have a fundamental difference with the majority of the American people. They see us as dead. They will kill us with as much thought was we would give to using ointment on a cut to keep the germs out.

Fundamental Fact 4: given fact number 3, the only given remotely rational action is to kill them first. To do otherwise would make us accomplices in our own destruction.

Fundamental Fact 5: [ed. note: sentence reconstructed for coherence] the tools for those that use them must be in place years beforehand — if that means going for a pet project or even organizing an ROTC unit in Oberlin — so be it.

Fundamental Fact 6: fundamental facts one through five have been understood by lots of people with less education but more intelligence then some Oberlin types for a very long time.
