“Heard Here” Writer In Error

To the Editors:

Was the review of Smashing Pumpkins: Greatest Hits supposed to be funny? I completely missed the joke. This could relate to the fact that I don’t socialize with music reviewers, and am thereby unable to grasp their elite logic. Then again, it could be that the music review had little to do with the Pumpkins’ latest release.
I wonder why “Heard Here” would throw away an opportunity to comment on a greatest hits collection coming from a band that ascended, and crashed, right along with alternative/grunge music. There was a great piece of journalism, whether nostalgic or full of disenchantment, waiting to be drawn out of Greatest Hits. You all missed the opportunity to write it.
