Demonstrators Present Demands to Faculty

Amidst the College’s backpedaling to reinstate intern positions, about 70 concerned students staged a silent protest outside Tuesday’s General Faculty meeting. The students, who held signs with slogans such as “I love the MRC —support faculty of color,” were rallying for broad ranging administrative changes, all of which were articulated in a list of demands presented to the faculty.

Vibe Fails to Vibe

Apologies should be sent to anyone who attended Vibe’s performance last week. The presentation was unimpressive and disappointing on so many levels. Vibe has a reputation of reflecting on the black aesthetic in the form of jazz and tap, yet these elements were not highlighted in the performance.

Baseball Has Eight Victories After Hiram Defeat

Earlier in the season, the Oberlin baseball team had its sights on 15 wins — the Oberlin College record. With eight wins under their belts and most likely (weather-allowing) just six games left to play, the team will not reach that mark. But despite coming short of this goal, the season has been a resounding success for Oberlin baseball.

Fs Should Apply To All Students

To the Editors:

ABooker Peek’s letter in the Review last week voices complaint over a proposed college policy to record Fs on students’ transcripts. He hinges the argument largely on racism and its corollary disadvantages. It is true, Mr. Peek, that racism still remains hidebound to American culture.
