Thursday,
Sept. 19, 9:33 a.m. Officers responded to a fire alarm alert in
Burton Hall. A malfunctioning detector was located and replaced.
The alarm was reset.
Thursday,
Sept. 19, 11:24 a.m. A resident of South Hall reported a male subject
soliciting in the building. Officers responded and a thorough check
of he building was made, but the subject could not be located.
Thursday,
Sept. 19, 4:02 p.m. An employee reported a student involved in a
bicycle accident in front of King. Officers responded and learned
the student was riding her bike up the curb. The front fork of the
bicycle became loose causing her to fall forward. The student was
transported to Oberlin Medical Center for treatment.
Thursday,
Sept. 19, 9:40 p.m. A student reported the theft of his bicycle
from the rear entrance of Mudd. The bicycle is a Neo, foldable,
silver in color, one speed, small in size and valued at $250.00.
The bicycle was not locked at the time of theft.
Friday,
Sept. 20, 2:00 a.m. A resident of Noah Hall reported receiving a
harassing phone call and a harassing message left on her dry erase
board. Both were non-threatening in nature. The incident is under
investigation.
Friday,
Sept. 20, 2:14 a.m. Officers responded to a loud noise complaint
in the North Bowl area. Several students were located and advised
to quiet down.
Friday,
Sept. 20, 9:19 p.m. A resident of Price Hall reported several students
going through a hatch leading to the basement with beer. Officers
responded and located the students in the basement mechanical area.
The students were drinking beer and body painting. They were advised
to leave the area and the incident was referred to the Dean’s
Office for further action.
Saturday,
Sept. 21, 12:43 a.m. Officers were requested to assist with an intoxicated
student in East Hall. The student was coherent and declined medical
treatment at the time. His roommate agreed to stay with the student
for the night.
Saturday, Sept. 21, 11:00 a.m. A student reported her bicycle stolen
from outside of Talcott on Thursday evening. The bicycle is a Perot
Montreal, blue and white in color and valued at $100.00.
Saturday,
Sept. 21, 1:00 a.m. An officer on patrol observed a party at student
housing on Woodland Street. The residents were advised they would
have to close the party because they had no party permit and were
in violation of College policy. Residents complied.
Sunday,
Sept. 22, 2:53 a.m. A resident of Dascomb Hall requested assistance
with an intoxicated student in Dascomb. Officers responded and found
the student coherent and talking with his roommate. The roommate
advised he would stay in the room during the night and call if further
assistance was needed.
Sunday,
Sept. 22, 11:06 p.m. Officers responded to a report of individuals
attempting to sell jewelry in Dascomb dining hall. Officers located
the subject and advised he and his party would have to leave the
dining hall. They were also advised of college policy on soliciting.
Tuesday,
Sept. 24, 5:00 p.m. An officer responded to a report of vandalism
to a vehicle while parked at Tank Hall. Black marker was used to
write on the fenders and a substance was found spashed on the top
of the vehicle. The incident is under investigation.
Wednesday,
Sept. 25, 1:52 a.m. Officers and Oberlin Fire Department responded
to a fire alarm at Dascomb Hall. The alarm was found to have been
activated by cigarette smoke in a room. The detector was cleared
and reset with no further problems.
Wednesday,
Sept. 25, 12:20 p.m. A student reported vandalism to her bicycle
while parked in front of Talcott Hall. Her front tire was cut and
the bicycle seat was taken. Several other bicycles in the area were
also vandalized.
