Teacher education at oberlin
The Graduate Teacher Education Program at Oberlin College is for those who want to help solve the critical challenges facing education ... and to translate their undergraduate or career-based expertise into a rewarding teaching career that encourages achievement, supports diverse learning abilities, and prepares children for productive and fulfilled lives. The Graduate Teacher Education Program combines a year of graduate studies with a ten-month school-based internship, leading to a Master of Education degree and eligibility for initial teaching licensure. Licensure levels currently offered by Oberlin GTEP include Early Childhood (preK-grade 3) and Middle Childhood (grades 4-9). Plans are underway to begin offering Adolescent/Young Adult (grades 7-12) licensure in Math and English, possibly as early as June 2010, with Science and Social Studies licensure tracks to follow in subsequent years.
*** We regret to announce that GTEP is no longer accepting applications for the 2010 admissions cycle.***Click here for more information on the decision to terminate GTEP.
